Loot Generator
SRD-friendly loot with coins + items. Five loot types, from scant pickings to a dragon hoard.
Choose your settings and hit generate.
What is the loot generator?
The loot generator rolls treasure for D&D 5e: coins plus a list of items that fits the loot type you pick. There are five types — Pickings (Scant), Traveler's Cache, Strongbox, Guild Vault and Dragon Hoard — ranging from one item to twelve. The higher the type, the more coins and the better the odds that an item is a real magic item: none in scant pickings, 65 percent per item in a dragon hoard, where rare and very rare items turn up too. Magic items show their rarity right next to the name.
How it works
- Choose a loot type, from “Pickings (Scant)” to “Dragon Hoard”.
- Click “Generate Loot”: coins come first, then one line per item.
- Not happy? “Re-Roll” rolls the same type again.
- Copy the result into your notes or fetch an earlier one from “Recently generated”.
Frequently asked questions
Is the loot generator free, and do I need an account?
It is free and works without an account or sign-in. You open the page and start rolling.
Which coins does the generator use?
The coins of the 5th edition, depending on the type: copper and silver in small finds, gold and platinum in the vault and the hoard. In German they read KM, SM, GM and PM.
Is the loot saved?
The last 20 results of each generator stay in your browser's local storage under “Recently generated” until you clear the history. Nothing is sent to an account. To keep a result elsewhere, “Copy” puts it on your clipboard as plain text.
Does the loot generator work offline?
No. The results are rolled on the server from large tables that would be too heavy for the browser, so generating needs an internet connection.
