Shop Generator

Name, owner and inventory, ready to drop in — from the village general store to a shady back-room dealer.

Choose your settings and hit generate.

What is the shop generator?

The shop generator gives you a complete shop for D&D 5e, ready to drop into your town: name, first impression, owner, an inventory with prices and an adventure hook. Nine shop types are available — inn & tavern, general store, blacksmith, woodworker, tailor, herbalist, magic shop, shady establishment and bookstore — or you let a random type be picked. Every so often the owner quietly offers something from a secret inventory; that is rare, more likely in the magic shop and the shady establishment. In German the prices read KM, SM and GM.

How it works

  1. Choose a shop type or keep “Random Shop”.
  2. Click “Generate Shop”.
  3. “Re-Roll” keeps the rolled type and refreshes name, owner and inventory.
  4. Copy the shop into your notes or fetch it again later from “Recently generated”.

Frequently asked questions

Is the shop generator free, and do I need an account?

It is free and works without an account or sign-in. You open the page and start rolling.

How big is the inventory?

It depends on the type: an inn lists two to three offers, a general store six to nine. Most other shops land in between.

Is the shop saved?

The last 20 results of each generator stay in your browser's local storage under “Recently generated” until you clear the history. Nothing is sent to an account. To keep a result elsewhere, “Copy” puts it on your clipboard as plain text.

German or English?

Both. Every result arrives in German and English at once; the language switch in the header changes it without rolling again.
