Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)
While you wear both gloves, a creature you have grappled cannot get free by slipping, twisting, or greasing. It can end the grapple only with a Strength (Athletics) check against your grapple DC, never with Dexterity (Acrobatics), and it has disadvantage on that check while both your hands are on it.
A rope, strap, or manacle that you tie or lock while wearing the gloves holds as though it had been fitted to the creature. A creature so bound cannot slip out at all; it must break the binding or succeed on a DC 18 Strength (Athletics) check. Another creature may cut or unlock the binding as usual.
The gloves do not come off wet, and they do not come off while a hand is closed on a creature. While you are attuned to them you cannot willingly let go of a creature you have taken hold of until it stops resisting, is unconscious, or is dead, or until another creature takes hold of it in your place. Ending your attunement takes them off; nothing else does.
The executioner's book gives the hours at which the gloves were put on and taken off upon sixty-one days. The second hour is always later than the office required.
