Delvers in the Marrow Roads name it by its leavings: figures of pale crystal frozen mid-flight, perfect and hollow, that ring like a struck bell. The Sporeglass Basilisk is a Large crystalline predator whose gaze seeds living flesh with a fungus that blooms into brittle glass.

Traits
Crystallizing Gaze. If a creature starts its turn within 30 feet of the basilisk and can see the basilisk's eyes, the basilisk can force a Constitution Saving Throw: DC 16. Failure: If the target is already Restrained by this trait, it has the Petrified condition, encased in sporeglass, until freed by greater restoration or similar magic. Otherwise the target has the Restrained condition until the start of its next turn as crystal creeps across its skin. A creature that isn't Surprised can avert its eyes to avoid the save, gaining the Blinded condition against the basilisk until the start of its next turn.
Actions
Multiattack. The basilisk makes two Bite attacks and one Tail Slam attack.
Bite. Melee Attack Roll: +8, reach 5 ft. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) Piercing damage plus 5 (2d4) Poison damage.
Tail Slam. Melee Attack Roll: +8, reach 5 ft. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) Bludgeoning damage, and the target has the Prone condition.
Sporeglass Ray (Recharge 5–6). Constitution Saving Throw: DC 16, one creature the basilisk can see within 60 feet. Failure: 36 (8d8) Piercing damage, and the target has the Restrained condition (escape DC 16) as crystal shards erupt through it. Success: Half damage only.
