Once per dawn, while you wear this armor and are hit by a ranged attack that would deal piercing damage, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage to 0. The shot is in the plate. It does not come out, the plate does not part, and nothing behind the plate is touched.
Each shot so stopped leaves a sunk hole with a bright lip, and no smith can raise it out, planish it flat, or fill it with anything that holds. Three are there already. It has never stopped a thrust, a bolt, or a stone.
